In a General Annual Meeting which was held in Wamena, Jalan Thamrin, the Central Office of KSU Baliem Arabica, attended by its 681 members from 8 regencies in the central highlands.

Members who were present at this meeting read out their progress, problems they have been facing so far, and their expectations in the future in order to improve productivity and income.

The meeting was officially opened by the Head of Wamena District, Lince Kogoya, S.IP. representing the government. After the opening ceremony, Lince Kogoya stated coffee has potential prospect in generating income and in employing local peoples in the region.

All peoples in the highlands are invited to plant more coffee as the cooperative is now appointed as the Head or Coordinator of “One Village One Product” of Papua. The chair of Cooperative, Mr. Selion Karoba stated the cooperative now has a market, and therefore it is time for the farmers to increase the quality and quantity of products.

Mr. Karoba added the cooperative is not only exporting, but also distributing the coffee throughout Indonesia as well.
